Mission Statement

The Human Resources Department's mission is to develop and manage value-added human resources policies and programs, and provide expert consultation, services and solutions in an efficient and customer-focused manner; and to provide our employees with the tools necessary to meet our customer's needs.  We are committed to the fair selection and development of our inclusive and diverse workforce.

About Us

The Human Resources Department consists of three staff members who perform a variety of professional level HR services to a number of different entities.  The Department is staffed with the Assistant Town Manager who serves as the Director of Human Resources, an HR Specialist, and a Senior Wellness Specialist.  The department is supplemented with the Mansfield Husky Program, which is the Town's collaborative work-study program with the University of Connecticut.  


The department provides services, advice and consultation in the areas of: compensation, classification, benefits, talent acquisition, safety & risk management, training & organizational development, employee & labor relations, and policy development & compliance.  The department also works collaboratively with the personnel committee in administering and updating the Town's personnel rules.
