The Connecticut General Statutes (CGS), Chapter 97 Section 7-131a, allows municipalities to establish a Conservation Commission. Members are appointed by the Town Manager.   The Commission advises the Inland Wetlands Agency on applications for Inland Wetlands Licences.  In addition, advises the Town Council, the Planning and Zoning Commission, and other Town agencies and officials on policies and issues relating to the development, conservation, supervision, and regulation of natural resources, including water resources, within the Town of Mansfield.

The Commission generally meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm in Conference Room B of the Mansfield Town Hall.
